Session 1: Introduction to Art and Identity (90 minutes)

Objective:
Introduce on the role of art in expressing identity. Explore identity through the lens of two artists and discuss what makes up your identity. 

​

  • Guest presenter: Leah Santilli / NGV - Exploration of the role of art in expressing and understanding identity.

  • Guest speakers: Australian artists.

  • Collaborative activity: What makes up your identity?

Session 2: Collaborative Activity (90 minutes)

Objective:
Understand strategies to support classroom inclusion and involvement in creative art projects. 

  • Guest speaker: Indonesian artist

  • Guest presenter:  Leah Santilli / NGV - Creating inclusive classrooms: Strategies for supporting disability and social inclusion in classrooms through artistic creativity.

  • Collaborative activity: Creative art project reflecting your identity.

Session 3: Showcasing and Reflection (90 minutes)

Objective:
Showcase collaborative art projects, further discuss strategies for inclusive classrooms, create plans for incorporating workshop learnings into school classrooms. 

  • Presentation of collaborative art projects from each school partnership. Virtual gallery showcasing work produced.

  • Reflection on creating inclusive classrooms.

  • Collaborative activity: Create a plan to support one of more students in your class based on learning from the workshop. 

Participating in this workshop will help you strengthen your school partnership, foster intercultural understanding, and enhance your pedagogical skills. While you are encouraged to join the workshop with your partner educator, this is not a requirement. The workshop will be facilitated online via Zoom with work produced being shared on the BRIDGE website.
