Working Towards
A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

BRIDGE teachers of all learning areas can use the range of resources in the toolkit above as examples of how to incorporate Climate Change Education into their existing school curriculum

These resources support the climate change workshops focused on 'Working Towards A Sustainable Future'. The workshops explore local perspectives in Australia and Indonesia, and discuss initiatives to embed teaching of climate and sustainability into curriculum.

 

The workshop will include:

  • Engaging presentations

  • Interactive discussions

  • Resource sharing

  • Teaching strategies

  • Local perspectives

 

WORKSHOP DETAILS

8 MAY 2024

Australia Time Zones: 15:30 AEST

Indonesia Time Zones: 12:30 WIB, 13:30 WITA

Duration: 90 Minutes

Session 1 will introduce the concepts of climate and sustainability.

 

Guest Speaker

Peta White, Associate Professor, Education (Science Education) at Deakin Uni and Editor-In-Chief of the Australian Journal of Environmental Education (AJEE).

 

In this session, educators will have the chance to discuss how climate change and sustainability issues affect their school communities and how these topics are embedded in their school curriculum.

15 MAY 2024

Indonesia Time Zones: 12:30 WIB, 13:30 WITA

Duration: 90 minutes

Session 2 will build on the topics and discussions in Session 1, with a focus on developing a collaborative classroom project with your partner school to address a climate change issue in your school or community.

Participating in this workshop will help you strengthen your school partnership, foster intercultural understanding, and enhance your pedagogical skills. While you are encouraged to join the workshop with your partner educator, this is not a requirement.
