About
Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program
The Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and delivered by Asialink Education at the University of Melbourne.
The program connects Australian and Indonesian schools in meaningful bilateral partnerships. Since 2008, BRIDGE has been building bridges between cultures, classrooms, and communities.
BRIDGE establishes school-to-school relationships, provides comprehensive teacher professional learning programs—both online and in-country—and connects students through engaging global classroom activities.

Australian school applications close

Australian schools are notified about their participation in the program

1-1 virtual partnership meetings with new BRIDGE school, supported by the BRIDGE team

1-1 virtual partnership meetings with new BRIDGE school, supported by the BRIDGE team
20-23 August 2026
Indonesian teachers arrive. Australian and Indonesian teachers participate in a two-day in-person professional development together (location to be determined)
February 2027
Australian and Indonesian teachers continue working on any projects established in 2026.
Schools have the opportunity to apply for grants and access Asialink Education global classroom projects.
23-28 August 2026
Australian school host Indonesian partner teachers for 6 days
Indonesian educators will travel back to the Australian city where they arrived and participate in a debrief session before returning to Indonesia
September 2026
Schools continue building on partnership activities and explore range of Global Classroom activities with students
14-17 January 2027
Australian teachers travel to Indonesia and engage in 3 day cultural immersion program in Jakarta
18-22 January 2027
Australian teachers participate in a 5 day school visit to their Indonesian school
